This fine flavour cocoa combines a pleasant popcorn-style sweetness with notes of forest blossoms (like bergamot) and an interesting vegetal aftertaste that reminds of kelp (seaweed).
Luna is a flavoursome limited-edition cocoa. A single Trinitario clone variety, produced by only 2 farms in the south of the Philippines. On an island outside the typhoon belt with favourable climatic conditions to grow outstanding cocoa.

caffeine. cobea contains about 1/8 to 1/10 of the levels of caffeine compared to the same volume of filter coffee . as a result it can be enjoyed round the clock without caffeine-jitters.
theobromine. a cup of 150ml cobea contains 50mg of theobromine . a gentler, more steady and long lasting source of energy.
polyphenols. the same cup of 150ml contains 90mg of polyphenols, known for their contribution to maintain the elasticity of blood vessels & optimum blood flow . a daily dosis of 200mg is considered having immediate positive health effects .
so you only need 2.22 cups of cobea to hit that mark.
no waste. after brewing you can reuse the cocoa grounds for baking, scooping into your (plant-based) yoghurt or granola, etc . it just keeps giving.
calorie-free. the high cocoa butter content of our light roasted ground cocoa (55-58%) delivers a unique, complex taste & aroma to our brew . but by using a paper filter, our brew is considered completely fat- & sugar free with only 1.7 kcal/100ml.

Fine flavor cocoa at the foot of Mount Apo.
The farms supplying Auro Luna cocoa are close to Mount Apo National Park, which is home to a very diverse flora and fauna, including birds and orchids that are endemic to the region. Auro focusses on conservation and landscape restoration initiatives to maintain and increase the rich biodiversity of Davao region. Farmers harvest only fully ripe pods and extract the wet beans on the farm. They are collected the same day and transported to Auro’s central fermentation facility. The beans are fermented in wooden three layer cascading boxes that allow drainage of pulp and passage of air. It is a natural and slow process.
